Steps and Timeline
The table below breaks down the application process into eight basic steps. Each step must be completed before continuing to the next.
Phase I - Main Applicant:
STEP 1
File preparation and submission. Application fees are due once the file is complete.
STEP 2
Appointment at a Bulgarian Consulate for document signing.
STEP 3
Investment transfer by the applicant.
STEP 4
Investment Certificate issued.
STEP 5
Second appointment at a Bulgarian Consulate: application for Visa D.
STEP 6
Visa D granted followed by a first trip to Bulgaira: submission of Application for Permanent Residence (PR).
STEP 7
Permanent residence approved, followed by a second trip to Bulgaria, submission of Application for Bulgarian PR card.
STEP 8
Receipt of Bulgarian PR Card (three days after application).
Phase II - Family Members:
Once you receive the Bulgarian ID document, the procedure for qualifying family members begins. The process for obtaining a BulgarianID may take six months (this includes two mandatory trips to Bulgarian for each qualifying family member).

BASIC DOCUMENTS
Full copy of current passports (must be valid for the initial visa period).
Copy of Personal details page of MA passport (2 copies)
Previous passport (if current one was issued less than one year ago).
6 identical passport photographs of each of MA, SP and DEPs (less than 6 months old).
Marriage certificate duplicate from the issuing authority.
Birth certificates of children, if applicable. Must be duplicates issued from authorities.
Proof of education (e.g. university degree(s)), if applicable.
Evidence that MA and SP have a personal net worth exceeding 1 000 000 €, as per completed proof of 1M euro net worth
Detailed curriculum vitae (2 copies) of the MA baring his/her signature.
Police Clearance Certificates (2 originals) (Proof of no criminal record required) in the countries of residence during the last five years.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
Confirmation of net worth
Original bank statement (not more than 1 month old) showing cash deposits.
Original investment statement (not more than 1 month old) showing the balance of an investment portfolio.
Title deeds of property(ies) owned worldwide. This should also include a current valuation of the property (ies) and license of evaluator. Evidence of any outstanding mortgages on the property(ies).
Business valuations [e.g. valuation of shares of company(ies)]. Audited Financial Statements of the business (es) with license of the Auditor [e.g. Balance Sheet and Income Statement of Company(ies)]. Corporate Documents, if applicable (e.g. Certificate of Incorporation, Articles and Memorandum).
History of origin and accumulation of funds
Narrative document (2 copies), signed in front of a lawyer or notary, bearing the candidate’s original signature and describing the origin or manner in which the candidate’s present financial resources (both family and business) were accumulated.
Cost of the program
STEP ONE: This will provide you with Bulgarian Residency:
1) FULL INVESTMENT: Either an investment of EUR511,292 in government bonds for a period of 5 years. After 5 years the full amount will be returned to you.
2) FINANCES INVESTMENT: Or a nonrefundable payment of EUR 180,000 - nothing else will be required.

STEP TWO: This will provide you with Bulgarian Citizenship:
You have to have been a resident for at least one year. (Apply for citizenship after one year of holding the residency)
1) Invest an additional EUR 512,000 (held for a period of two years after obtaining citizenship)
or ;
2) Financed option for a nonrefundable fee of EUR100,000

· You do not have to live in Bulgaria- but will have to travel at least twice to personally sign and submit the application for residency and then to obtain Bulgarian ID.
· When you become a citizen - you have the right to live, work and study in Europe.
· The application fees for residency are: €25,000 + €2,500 per dependent.
These will cover legal fees, and state and administration fees in Bulgaria pertinent to the application process. The fee also covers: professional and legal fees for processing the applications of the main applicant and the qualifying family members, security check, legal and financial due diligence, all state and municipal fees pertinent to the applications, notarial fees, fees pertinent to legalization and translation of documents in Bulgaria, property rental in Bulgaria for 5 years, and other.
Application fees for citizenship is €25,000 for the Main Applicant and the Spouse + €7,500 per dependent applying for citizenship.
